Storms were brewing on June 22, 2023, captured here by NASAEarth’s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) on NOAA’s DSCOVR satellite. Two tropical cyclones, Bret and Cindy, formed over the Atlantic Ocean and moved toward the Caribbean, marking the first time on record that more than one such storm has developed in the month of June.⁣
⁣
The following day, June 23, Bret had passed over the islands and continued moving west, while Cindy progressed on a west-northwest path with sustained winds. ⁣
⁣
Smoke from wildfires in Canada is also visible in this image which was taken from about 1 million miles (1.5 million kilometers) away from Earth.⁣
