At Qassim, the largest date palm plantation in the kingdom, the owner and his sons (above) review the 400+ different date varieties. Each has a unique taste, texture, and color. Dates are an important part of Saudi Arabian culture and are often exchanged as gifts during special occasions and religious festivities, such as Ramadan and Eid. There are souk markets dedicated solely to selling dates. The last slide is from an annual festival where producers showcase their dates. #dates #saudiarabi
