## Caption

Natalie Nakase and the Valkyries deserve all the flowers this season. Truly playing at an unreal level 💪

Nakase made history as the Golden State Valkyries’ inaugural head coach, bringing experience from the NBA’s G League and the Los Angeles Clippers’ coaching staff. Her background is a big part of what makes her approach so interesting: she’s spent years in environments where preparation, player development and attention to detail are non-negotiable.

And the Valkyries weren’t handed an easy path. Expansion teams have to build chemistry, establish an identity and figure out how to compete against rosters that have played together for years. Nakase helped make Golden State’s first season about much more than simply learning on the job.
