BAMA NRFSA SUCCESS STORY: Lauren Wong!!! ⭐️😊

Lauren graduated in the fall of 2025 and received her degree in Apparel in Textiles with a concentration of Fashion Merchandising and minored in Business. While at UA, she served as an Event Coordinator and then Vice President her senior year for NRFSA.

She’s currently living in Charleston, SC and works at HART as a Wholesale and Brand Experience Associate.

Recently, she took the time to answer a few questions on how NRFSA shaped her professionally.

“How did NRFSA help you land your job at HART?:
Being in NRFSA throughout my college experience gave me exposure to all different facets of retail, fashion, and business. I felt encouraged to explore careers and pathways outside of my direct studies. I also strengthened my networking skills and have since built out a strong network that I still keep in touch with!

How did NRF NXT impact you or any great memories from the trip?:
I had the privilege of attending the NRF Student Program, now NRF NXT, twice in my time with NRFSA. The NRF NXT program not only is a fantastic opportunity to be placed in front of industry experts, but such a fun way to connect with your peers and develop meaningful relationships and friendships. Whether it’s your first time or second time or beyond, there’s always something new to learn or someone new to meet! One of my favorite personal memories was having a late night snack with my friends MJ and Blakely in the hotel restaurant!

What’s one key skill or lesson from NRFSA that you use often in your role?:
I am a huge networker and LinkedIn user! Both in my personal life and work life I find it so important to keep using media platforms like LinkedIn to always have a pulse on the industry, meet new experts and leaders, and to keep up with friends and connections! NRFSA really allowed me to develop my personal profile but also learn best practices for connecting and networking with others.”

We are so proud of Lauren and everything she has accomplished! What a fantastic role model and representation of where NRFSA can take you!!
