BAMA NRFSA SUCCESS STORY: Blakely Beron!!! ⭐️🩵

Blakely graduated in May of 2026 and received her degree in Fashion Retailing with a minor in General Business. During her time at the Capstone, she served as a PR Executive for NRFSA and then President her senior year.

She’s currently located in New York City and works at Mamiye Brothers as a Habitual Sales Coordinator.

Blakely took the time to answer a few questions on how NRFSA shaped her professionally.

“How did NRFSA help you land your job at Mamiye Brothers?:
NRFSA helped open so many doors for me and allowed me to connect with so many Alabama alumni who were where I wanted to be. So many NRFSA and Bama alumni helped guide and support me during my post-grad job hunt, and I could not be more grateful for this organization and the lasting community it creates.

How did NRF NXT impact you, or what are some great memories from the trip?:
NRF NXT helped show me all the different paths I could take and allowed me to explore so many different areas of the industry that we don’t always get to see. Even if you aren’t interested in a specific role or position, it’s so important to understand all the ever-evolving parts of the fashion industry and how they work together.

What’s one key skill or lesson from NRFSA that you use often in your role?:
I actually have two! My first lesson came from many of the industry speakers we had: always advocate for yourself, believe in yourself, and put yourself out there! Email, email, email…don’t be shy! It’s not about what you do it’s who you know. Not to say that it takes a lot of work and dedication, but your connections will get you further than 50 job applications. My second lesson comes from my time leading and being a part of this community. Community is so incredibly important in this industry, whether it’s for opportunities to arise or simply for support. The fashion industry is fast-changing, multifaceted, hectic, but addicting, and having a community to share that with is the most important thing.”

Blakely is just that girl and we couldn’t be more proud of everything she’s achieved!! Another FANTASTIC role model!
