Q. 🥾 What is your SPARK? As in, what makes you happy, motivated, or excited? What makes you, you?

A. Do I have to pick just one? I stay busy outside of work with a variety of things: learning languages (currently leveling up in Italian!), creative writing, reading, backpacking, and being a dog dad to a spirited doodle named Daisy. One of my biggest accomplishments that has inspired me to keep setting new personal goals was thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 2017. And one of those goals is to whip Daisy into shape to do another long hike with me one day. Maybe the variety of sparks is what makes the fire.

Q. ⭐ If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?

A. Wow, I feel like a finalist on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” (iykyk!) To little Danny, don’t be afraid to go against the grain. Lean into your creative interests and talents, even if they’re not “typical” and people question you or make fun of you for them. These are the things that will bring you joy and help you spread joy to others.
