Gov. kimreynoldsia  is calling lawmakers back to the Iowa Capitol for a rare special session to pass new abortion restrictions after suffering a defeat at the Iowa Supreme Court last month.

Reynolds announced Wednesday she would call the special session for July 11.

It's not clear what type of law Republicans will pursue during the special session.
