✨Virginia FAVS🤩

@rvahikergirl & @vastateparks for more great things to do at VA’s parks

Virginia has 42 state parks to enjoy, but here are some reasons why you should check out these 5 standouts.

📌 False Cape - not only Virginia’s most remote state park but it’s also the southernmost park in the state. 🚫🚙 You can’t drive to this park but you can hike, bike, or take a tram there. AND it’s the only VA state park that has tent⛺️camping on the beach.
📍VIRGINIA BEACH

📌 Caledon - known for its big beautiful🌳trees in its old growth forest and for being an ideal place to see bald eagles. But the sun sets across the Potomac River are epic!
📍KING GEORGE

📌 Natural Tunnel - the only VA State Park with a chair lift! But it also has a naturally occurring “natural tunnel” 850 feet long, 10 stories high, and it’s known as being one of the ⭐️8th wonders of the world.
📍DUFFIELD

📌 Grayson Highlands - of course it’s known for its wild ponies but it has so much more to offer. It holds some of the highest ⛰peaks in the state including Mt Rogers, The Pinnacle, Little Pinnacle and Wilburn Ridge - all over 5,000 feet in elevation.
📍MOUTH OF WILSON

📌 Belle Isle - maybe you haven’t heard of this one. But it boasts 7 miles of beautiful 🌊shoreline along the Rappahanock River. And it’s so tranquil and peaceful if you’re looking for a quieter place to enjoy nature.
📍LANCASTER
