📌 Grandfather Mountain State Park
📌 Linville, North Carolina

✳️ Also know as the Mile High Swinging Bridge, it’s 5,280 feet high, and 228 feet long. The 2 mile scenic drive to get up there will have you ohhing and ahhhing. The views are stunning.

❇️ It does get pretty windy up there as you can imagine and when it does the bridge is said to sing 🎶 like a harmonica.

▪️Go under the bridge via the Bridge Trail for a short .4 mile trek
▪️Hike the Grandfather Loop that connects several trails above 5,000 feet
▪️If your up for a challenge check out the Grandfather Trail - ladders, cables, hand over hand climbing over rugged terrain for 2.4 miles (recommended for experienced hikers only)
▪️Stop at the Forest Gump Picnic area for great views while you have a yummy snack (a scene from the movie was filmed here)
▪️Swing by the Wildlife Habitats in the park to see bear, elk, eagles, & otters.
▪️And of course don’t miss the gift shop
