CELEBRATING OUR SENIORS

Brianna Mitchell, OH/OPP, #COV18Gold

🔹What has playing at Club One meant to you?
“Playing at Club One has meant that hard work is always earned not given. That even through challenges, I always had coaches by my side supporting me and pushing me to respect and love the sport. I have made so many friends and have gained so many life experiences and it means the world to me that I got these opportunities that where offered to me here at Club One. I have played at 2 other clubs prior and it wasn't until I came to Club One where I really experienced growth and was received as family.”

🔹What has volleyball taught you?
"That even through trials and tribulations, working hard and putting in the effort will help you reach your potential with yourself as well as success in the end. No matter how many times I wanted to quit I knew that I had a purpose on this court and that I was going to accomplish great things. I had to work hard to get where I am at now and that is what volleyball as taught me.”

🔹How have you grown from freshman year to now?
"I have grown greatly considering what I have been through the past 4 years. During this time, I have experienced grief with the passing of my brother as well as working through some major injuries and set backs. These experiences has helped me grow into a stronger person and has enabled me to advocate for myself and what's right. I know now that it wasn't going to be an easy path for me and that's okay because I wouldn't change anything because it has made me the person that I am now. Thank you to the coaches and club directors for believing in me and supporting me throughout my club career.”

In her senior season at Corona del Sol HS, Brianna and the Aztecs won the 6A State Championship. She also earned 6A All-Academic Honorable Mention recognition. Brianna will continue her academic and athletic career at Haskell Indian Nations University.
