#COVshoutout to brianna.mitchellvb from #COV18Gold on her commitment to Haskell Indian Nations University!!

🔹Brianna chose haskellwomensvolleyball because as someone of Native American descent she would like to specialize her career in American Indian Studies, and Haskell has a huge program offered to indigenous youth across the nation. She loved the environment and the coach as well as her future teammates.

🔹Brianna would like to thank her mom and dad first, because they supported her through this long journey, as well as her family. She also wants to say a huge thank you to her coaches, because without their training, teachings, and advice she would not be here today. Finally, she would like to thank her brother, who is watching her from above. Rest in peace, Justin ❤️

🔹Brianna’s encouragement to younger athletes: “Even through all the hard times, never give up. Trust me I’ve been through so many hardships and the amount of times I’ve wanted to give up was endless but I knew there was a purpose for me on the court. There are so many opportunities so go get them and no matter how hard it gets don’t give up! I know how it feels to have the world against you but it’s the athletes that have heart and push through who always come out on top in the end. ❤️"
