Despite sitting at a 2-5 record, Temple Football is coming off a strong win against Tulsa last week. The Owls got the offense going early, which is something they have struggled with all season, and had a 17-point lead going into halftime.

Leading receiver Dante Wright was limited due to injury and his status is questionable against East Carolina tomorrow. Even if Wright does not see significant time on the field, the Owls should be content with their backup plan. Quarterback Evan Simon found 13 different receivers and finished with 297 yards last week against the Golden Hurricane. The defense also impressed, holding Tulsa to just 10 points and 75 rushing yards while forcing two turnovers.

“We feel like we’re better than what the record shows, but it’s in the rearview mirror,” said head coach Stan Drayton. “I think we’ve learned some lessons from those games and win or loss that’s what you need to do. You got to be able to flush it and get to the next play, the next game. That’s our mindset.”
