Happy #PrideMonth, Bees! Here is a look back at some @stambroseprism highlights from this year!

Promoting Respect in Sexual Minorities (PRISM) is a group for LGBTQIA+ students and allies at St. Ambrose University. Growing and operating under other names (S.O.U.P and The Harbor may sound familiar to some @stambrosealumni), this group has had a presence on campus since the 1990s!

Homecoming Tailgate: PRISM hosted its first Pride Tailgate at Brady Street Stadium during #SAUHomecoming! The group, including alumni and employee members, celebrated and connected while enjoying some tailgate food before cheering on the Fighting Bees.

Gab & Java: For National Coming Out Day, PRISM and PARADE (SAU’s LGBTQIA+ and ally employee affinity group) hosted a gathering to share stories and celebrate one another.

Advocacy Work: PRISM has been actively engaged in advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights, from attending rallies in Vander Veer Park to meeting with legislators in Des Moines. Their involvement and activism go beyond campus boundaries, striving to create safer, more affirming, and inclusive spaces not only within the institution but in the wider community. This year, PRISM was recognized by the SAU Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with the Collective Impact Award.

Kickin' It: PRISM members headed across the river to @augustana_illinois for the Night of Noise drag show sponsored by Augie GSA and Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity.

Senior Send-Off: PRISM members gathered at Vander Veer Park for their last meeting of the year and bid farewell to graduating seniors!

Make sure you are following @stambroseprism to keep up with events and initiatives!

Special thanks to PRISM advisor Sarah Eikleberry for contributing these photos and her continued dedication to PRISM and the larger LGBTQIA+ community. 🏳️‍🌈🐝💙
