The exact lineup for who would be performing a tribute to George Strait at the 2024 CMA Awards has been a secret until this morning, and we just got the news on who it’ll be!

We’re about to tell you, but first, did you know George Strait will be receiving the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award and will be only the ninth artist ever to do so? The other artists who have achieved this award are Loretta Lynn, Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, and Charley Pride.

According to a press release, this award only goes to “an iconic artist who has attained the highest degree of recognition in Country Music. The award recognizes those who have achieved both national and international prominence and stature through concert performances, humanitarian efforts, philanthropy, streaming numbers, record sales, and public representation at the highest level. The artist receiving this award has positively impacted and contributed to the growth of the genre over the course of many years and has proven to have an unprecedented historical impact on fans and industry alike.”

As for who’s performing a tribute to George Strait tonight, it’s going to be Parker McCollum, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Jamey Johnson, and Lainey Wilson. And, although it’s not confirmed, we may see Johnson sing “Give It Away,” a song he co-wrote with Bill Anderson and Buddy Cannon before George Strait turned it into a #1 hit. Can’t wait to see which other songs these artists will perform!

Tune in tonight (Nov. 20) at 8/7c on ABC to watch these artists perform at the 2024 CMA Awards!
