As seencapone put it: “Barney explores the ultimate drawing-restraint, old age.” Katz who is 97, effortless raging against gravity and the the world. A mingling matrix of two artists into one, or two differently charged electrons  revolving around and against one another.  Barney sculptures and spatial modifications with some abstract beauties of painterly ease by Katz. Beautifully inscrutable.

The take away - other than the art - is New York is not dead. Jamian Juliano-Villani and her brilliant mad crew have found and made this space, with what money she can scrape together, and given it to others, set artists free, provided shamanic shelter from the storm and provided community.

We were never part of the system. It was insanity to imagine we could be or were. 
As robertasmithnyc always says “We make it out of ourselves.”
