Temple Women’s Basketball fell to South Florida 65-56 Saturday night at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The first half of the game remained close but as soon as the second half hit the Bulls grew their lead to as many as 17 points and it was apparent the Owls were going to drop their first conference game of the season.

Temple went into the second half down by just three points but its deficit grew after the Bulls went on an 18-4 run. Forward Anissa Rivera was Temple’s main source of points as she finished the night with 19 points but could not compete with Bulls guard Sammie Puisis, who recorded 26. The Owls scored 21 points in the final 10 minutes of play but the game was already too far out of reach as South Florida cruised to the win.

The Owls will be back in action against Florida Atlantic on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m.
