Temple Women’s Tennis cruised to a 4-0 sweep against Long Island University Sunday night for its third win of the season. The Owls only lost three sets throughout the entire day and never dropped a match in the victory.

Temple got a strong performance from Maria Martinez and Aditi Vaidya in doubles as they got a clean sweep to set the tone for the rest of the Owls. Temple cruised in the rest of its doubles matches and carried the momentum into singles. Irmak Ozturk and Marianthi Christoforidou each had standout performances in their singles match to help guide Temple to the win.

“We had a great start,” said Temple head coach Jeff Brandes. “We took it to them in doubles. That’s the best doubles we’ve had all year, it just came together and we carried the momentum into singles”

Temple will have a week break before traveling to Princeton, New Jersey, to face off against Princeton on March 1 at 3 p.m.
