On Oct. 20, the CivilRightsMemorial Center will host author Jim Emison for a discussion of his book, "Murder on the Hatchie: The NAACP’s First Martyr."

The book explores the 1940 death of Elbert Williams, a founding member of the NAACP in #HaywoodCounty, #Tennessee, and his role in the fight for civil rights.

Following the discussion, Emison will sign copies of the book. ✍🏾📖 Reserve your spot today at the 🔗 in our bio.
