## Caption

Although the U.S. Department of Justice requires prisons and jails to report data on in-custody deaths, information about these types of deaths is often difficult to find.

This issue has led the SPLC to release a new database tracking in-custody deaths in jails across #Mississippi.

Learn about the effort at the 🔗 in our bio. Our goals for this project are to help answer open questions about in-custody deaths by making that information readily available to the public and to advocate for policy change.
