## Caption

The fight for civil rights was never just about ending discrimination, but also expanding opportunity. From fair wages and equal access to jobs to housing, education and the right to vote, civil rights leaders understood that equality and economic opportunity go hand in hand.

As we reflect on America's history, we recognize that building a more just nation has always meant working toward both civil rights and economic justice.
