## Caption

#OTD we remember and honor the life of trailblazer Shirley Chisholm. A politician, educator and author, she reshaped what was possible in American politics.

Chisholm was the first Black woman elected to Congress, the first Black candidate to seek a major party’s nomination for president, and the first woman to run for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. Her courage opened doors that had been sealed shut for generations.

Her legacy continues to inspire new leaders who refuse to wait for permission to lead. #TheMarchContinues #UnboughtAndUnbossed
