Did you know that hydropower (a.k.a. water power) is the oldest form of renewable energy? 💦 Thousands of years ago, water wheels were used to turn millstones, which would grind wheat into flour.

A water wheel is a machine that converts the kinetic energy of water into mechanical movement. The water wheel uses falling water (powered by gravity) to increase the speed and power of the millstone.

With this Water Fountain project from Tinker Crate, kids will engineer their own water wheel and explore the ins and outs of ancient water engineering. Learn more about Tinker Crate through our link in bio!
