🌋 Save this easy experiment and make a lemon erupt like a volcano! 🌋 See steps below. ⬇️

Steps:
1. Gather materials - lemons, baking soda, food coloring, liquid soap, craft sticks, knife, tray.
2. For grownups: Slice off the sides of the lemons and scoop out the core.
3. Use your craft stick to mush the center of the lemon and bring out the juices. Be sure to keep the juice in the lemon!
4. Place a few drops of food coloring, a good squeeze of liquid soap, and a spoonful of baking soda in the center of each lemon.
5. Stir and watch the reactions start to happen.
6. To keep the reaction going, add more baking soda, food coloring, and liquid soap. Squeezing the lemon to release the juices also enhances the reaction!

Why do these ingredients fizz and bubble when mixed? 🧪
Lemon juice contains citric acid which, when mixed with a base (like baking soda), reacts to form bubbles made of carbon dioxide gas. The liquid soap is not necessary, but causes the bubbles to ooze and froth more and longer.
