9TH ANNUAL : BEATSHOT * SPINS FOR DILLA - ALBANY, NY

・・・
11 years ago this month, the producer known fondly as J. Dilla lost his battle with lupus, leaving behind a legacy that has since gone on to inspire generation after generation. From his daughters hosting a youth benefit in their late father's honor in Detroit to his own music coming out posthumously to the J. Dilla foundation helping fund the development of music programs in inner cities across th U.S., J. Dilla has plenty of reasons to smile down on us all.

In honor of J Dilla's life, Beat*Shot music continues its tradition of celebrating his life, achievements and of course, his music, through the annual Beat*Shot Spins For Dilla semiformal, now in its 9th year. For this year's event, Lucas Confectionary Garden in Troy will play host on Friday, February 24th, and will enlist the musical talents of Amani O+, Anneice Cousin, Don Fonz, JB!! aka Dirty Moses, Moses Rockwell, Oddy Gato and DJ Trumastr, as well as will see a special performance from the official 518 J. Dilla tribute band, the Dilla Gents, performing selections from the producer's classic work, The Shining.
While J. Dilla is often described as "your favorite producer's favorite producer," there can only ever be one J. Dilla, and it's time for the 518 to do him, his name and his legacy a little justice, and have a blast along the way. Additionally, proceeds will benefit the James Dewitt Yancey Foundation & The family of Dontay Ivy.

Friday, February 24, 2017. $10, 8pm doors/9pm show.
J Dilla Merchandise by Beat*Shot & Official J Dilla Merch will also be available. #Dilla #JayDee #PayJay #TheMusic #TheLegend #TheIcon #TheProducer beatshotmusic 12secondstreet officialjdilla yancymaureen james_dewitt_yancey_foundation
