Hey Everyone! We’ve had a small slew of new followers over here the last few days and I figured it’s been a year since we introduced ourselves, so here we go! My name is Paige, and I’ve been doing this blogging gig for 8 years! I post about food, running, home decor, books, DIY, etc... but our family is typically always in some sort of medical crisis, and so I use my platform to spread awareness about the various things we’ve experienced the last several years. Our daughter Kinsley has holoprosencephaly (rare brain malformation and was given a 1% chance of making it to six months, she’s now 5!). Our son Kyle who is seven has had two eye surgeries on each of his eyes (first one to correct cross-eye, second one to correct lazy eye), broke his eye socket a couple years ago, and now we’re in the throws of navigating the waters of childhood anxiety with him. My husband Derek works in finance, has an undiagnosable issue with being constantly dizzy, and frequent headaches (they’ve checked everything), and today we found out there is a 50% chance that he has a gene that could cause him to go blind... so we’re starting the process of getting tested to find out. If he does have the gene though, our kids will actually be fine and not have it based on how the genetics shake out. And me? Well I spend a lot of time talking openly about my own mental health and anxiety, and mostly try to juggle the chaos of everything else happening in our house 😬🙈 I’m basically a cross between mom, physical therapist, psychiatrist, medical coordinator, blogger, and wanna be athlete 😅 How about you?
