Kyle has been at his new school for an entire week and Derek and I keep telling each other that it’s the best thing we’ve ever done for him. We knew he was struggling at school, but didn’t realize how much that was translating to our environment at home too. He hops in the car each day with the biggest smile on his face and tells me all about his favorite parts of the day, and even has emotional capacity to be nice, play with, and laugh with Kinsley too. I’m really hoping that we’re not in some illusive honeymoon phase, but the tone of our entire home has completely changed. Kyle isn’t on edge when he gets home because he’s at school all day with kids who aren’t constantly harassing him, and with a teacher who has more capacity to meet his needs due to less students. I’m not on edge anymore because I didn’t have anyone telling me all week that my child was ignoring everyone and hiding in a corner because some did “X, Y, Z...” to him. Words can’t describe how much peace and love has flooded our home this week because of this one change. A true weight has been lifted and we’re so so grateful 🙏🏻💛 .
