Shockwave and laser are two complementary therapies to our vast array of orthopedic procedures. Each works in a different, but synergistic way!

Shockwave is a device that looks somewhat similar to a massage gun, but this medical grade treatment is far more effective in enhancing the healing process. Shockwave works by creating micro trauma in an area and, thus, signaling the body to bring more stem cells and healing components to the area. Shockwave is prescribed by a physician on an as needed basis. This means that it may be offered as a part of your treatment plan at the time of your first post-treatment follow-up appointment.

Laser therapy is a far less invasive option that can also expedite the healing process. Here at IRM, we have a state of the art cold red laser that is the most powerful on the market. This laser works by stimulating and strengthening the mitochondria of each cell in the area, thus, giving the cells the energy that they need to work on healing the affected area.
