"HI GANG. 
So, this post has been tricky for me to write because I want to be very careful and considerate when talking about cultural traditions that aren't my own. 
It is fully my own perception of the "beauty world" and my own ignorance for not researching the traditional roots behind these methods. Perhaps it's because of how you can buy fake jade rollers for a penny online, I thought it was just an unnecessary beauty marketing gimmick. And truth be told, many companies are profiteering off cultural ideology and bastardising it. If I google Gua Sha, the first article that comes up is from Vogue...

According to medicalnewstoday.com: "Gua sha aims to move energy, known as qi or chi, around the body. The treatment involves using a tool to rub the skin in long strokes, applying enough pressure to create minor bruising. It is used to treat muscle pain and tension". Is it traditionally used on the face? Feel free to let me know, I'd love to learn more.

Because facial skin is delicate, I personally wouldn't scrape too hard on the face. Basically, I'm using my Gua Sha tool (kindly gifted by oilixia) to apply light pressure to the face and move it in long stroke movements. I love how the combination of this aromatic oil and the cool rose quartz sliding over my skin feels. After each sesh, my skin is revitalised and flushed a shade of rosy pink due to the increased blood flow & lymphatic drainage.
