The beautiful Amazon Rainforest, the lungs of our planet, is in trouble and needs our help.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a company, we will buy 10 acres of rainforest for every 1 product bought on our website, from now until the end of August.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The money will go towards rainforesttrust to help with their efforts to buy unowned land in the Amazon and legally protect it to prevent colonists and industries from negatively affecting the integrity of the ecosystems. In addition to granting indigenous communities the rights to their land, this will provide protection for Endangered species such as the White-bellied Spider Monkey, Giant Otter and Black-faced Black Spider Monkey.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you don’t need any new products from us, but would still like to donate, head to rainforestactionnetwork or rainforesttrust and read about the important work that they do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Side note: the supplier that we work with to source our Cacay oil from the Amazon is based in Colombia. They have been actively reforesting areas of the Amazon with native Cacay trees, that have previously been logged. Since starting their business a few years ago, they have already re-planted around 120,000 trees and they are planning to plant a further 100,000 trees this year. In addition, they are participating in social programs with NGOs and other government institutions to promote the plantations with small farmers and indigenous communities within the Amazon rainforest. We need more companies like this! 👏👏👏
