🐑The Andre’ Julius Experience (Behind The Scenes): During a design appointment with a new client, I took the opportunity to provide an impromptu lesson on the ticket pocket, a feature with British origins, and its harmonious pairing with the peak lapel, which originated in France. The ticket pocket, though now somewhat forgotten, has deep roots in British tailoring history. It became a popular and practical feature during the golden age of train travel, where it was used to store train tickets conveniently, allowing travelers to keep their tickets easily accessible without sifting through their main pockets.

Typically situated above the standard right pocket (as most people are right-handed), the ticket pocket is slightly narrower and can be either straight or slanted to match the orientation of the main pocket.

Although less functional today, the ticket pocket serves as a nod to traditional tailoring and adds a classic touch for those who appreciate sartorial history.
