Casa IV - A light study

One of my favorite things to do is watch the sun’s rays melt away the snow after it’s been around a few days! The way winter’s sunlight dances around my home is always something at which I’ll marvel!

When designing my home, and those of clients, too, I like to study the sun’s path. I, then, like to ask what are the colors present in plant life during the warmer months. Knowing that helps me incorporate those colors and imitation of texture into the home’s design so that the spirit of spring and summer last all year long.

This way, a home can feel joyful even when all has turned drab and gray outside during the winter months. And watching as the sun interacts with those colors in a space is something that brings me and clients alike endless, homegrown joy!

Feliz Wednesday, y’all! Do you take notice of the sun’s path when curating your spaces? #DavidQuarlesIV | #ChooseJoy
