Just a week ago, I snuck away in the wee hours of the morning to Cartagena, Colombia for a much needed break.

Although adventure, good food, and serving a look or two were involved, rest was the number one priority.

As you already know, I LOVE what I do - everything about it! But, as demanding as my role is, I need to be just as demanding about pouring into myself so I can continue to give my best to you; but most important, to myself.

So I booked a beautiful, plant-filled private home in the heart of San Diego - a luscious, artsy neighborhood in Cartagena - to read, lounge, swim, eat, soak, lounge again and stare into the star-filled skies.

This time alone allowed me to reflect on the wins, learn from the lessons, and determine how I want my journey from here on out to look and function - boundaries on work/life balance included. It also allowed me to wholly love on me!

Never in a million years would I think that I’d book a vacation merely lay around the house and sleep in another bed 😅 But I did and I loved it!

Feliz Thursday, y’all! And just in case you needed permission, going all the way to another part of the world simply for a REST-cation is very much ok!💁🏾‍♂️ #DavidQuarlesIV | #LiveJoy
