Welcome back to another session of: Design School with Professor Quarles 💁🏾‍♂️

For this class, we’ll be discussing one of my FAVORITE subjects: Art!

When it comes to curating your collection, here are three tips to keep in mind:

I. How High to Hang Art
• **Center** your artwork 60” from the floor when hanging it on the wall. This keeps your pieces at the average eye level for everyone to admire your collection!

II. How to Select Your Art
• Choose what makes you happy and speaks to your soul. It’s often said that we don’t choose the artwork, it chooses us! So know that there are no rules to finding the perfect art for your home - after all, it’s your home to fill with what you love!

III. Where to Find 
• Shop Local! Although buying original artwork can be expensive, you can consider them investment pieces: an investment in a gift to yourself, and an investment in your local art’s economy. And if original artwork isn’t in the budget, most of your local artists also sell beautiful prints of their work!

Extra credit: If you’re just starting out in your design journey and don’t know what furniture or accessories to buy, you can use artwork to inspire the color palette of the furniture and accessories in your spaces rather than the other way around!
