Some of history’s longest reigns started before age 10. 👑

Sobhuza II became king of Swaziland, now Eswatini, at four months old and held the title for 82 years. Louis XIV inherited France’s crown at four and reigned for 72 years. Mary, Queen of Scots, succeeded her father at just six days old.

Those totals measure each reign from accession, not from the start of personal rule. Regents, relatives or councils governed in many cases until the monarch was old enough to take power.
