Egypt’s State Strategic Command headquarters opened in the New Capital. 🏛

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi inaugurated the State Strategic Command Center, known as the Octagon, on July 4, 2026. The headquarters sits in Egypt’s New Capital east of Cairo and is meant to centralize armed forces leadership, secure communications, and crisis coordination.

Egyptian officials describe the command complex as larger than the Pentagon in total size. The opening places one of Egypt’s most important military institutions inside the new administrative city built to host major state functions.
