Set in Diriyah, home to the UNESCO-listed At-Turaif district, Sotheby’s is staging the second edition of Origins, a modern and contemporary auction built to connect Saudi and global art in one place.

The catalog runs 60-plus works, spanning everything from Modern icons to regional pioneers, which is a big signal that serious inventory is being routed to the Gulf.

The auction will happen on 31 January, and will include headline-level artists, including Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Anish Kapoor, and James Turrell.
