In Amritsar, the Golden Temple serves free meals to anyone, every day, without exceptions 🥣

At the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the langar serves free vegetarian meals to anyone, day and night. Depending on crowds, it can reach roughly 50,000 to 100,000 plates a day, powered by donations and volunteer work.

Everyone sits on the floor in long rows, side by side, so hierarchy stays outside the room. The tradition is over 500 years old, built to unite people across caste and class.

The rarest kind of scale is the kind that makes equality feel normal.
