"I joined pHd wt loss mainly for the purpose of reversing my diabetes. I am not insulin dependent but was on metformin and glipizide, and ozempic when I could afford it, ($800 for a 3 month supply with medicare suppliment insurance assisting to pay for the medication which was over $1500+). On the day I enrolled into the program, my fasting blood sugar was 337, after 5 days on the program, my blood sugars (checked 2 x /day) was between 70-74, and has stayed below 100. It has been 4 weeks now, and I have been able to discontinue my medications for at least 75% of the time. I learned the hard way, taking my meds when I my blood sugar was 108, and bottomed out to 56, so had to eat peanut butter to bring my sugar back up. I can't wait to see what my A1C will be in November, when I go back for a check-up. I'm sure my MD will be WELL pleased. I was at 8.5 on my last visit. I have lost 9 lbs in 4 weeks, I no longer have blurred vision, no tingling in my feet, I have more energy and am walking 3 miles a day! The cost for the program is TRULY an investment in my health, the cost of the Ozempic alone paid for the cost of the program, also, I am "saving" my kidneys, brain, eyesight, and legs by controlling my diabetes.
