Shakayla Berthelot and Alyssa Sims are part of the inaugural class of Jonathan C. Gibbs EMT Preparatory Academy. During their senior year, they also took a full college load of 12 credits to complete the EMT program at St. Petersburg College. Since January, their school days began around 7 a.m., and often concluded around 6 p.m.
Alyssa and Shakayla are planning to get jobs at a local hospital and attend the fire academy in August. They plan to become St. Petersburg Fire Rescue firefighters. Congratulations to these hardworking graduates! We are #PCSProud of you!

Jonathan C. Gibbs EMT Preparatory Academy is a collaboration between the City of St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, Gibbs High School, Pinellas County Schools and St. Petersburg College.
