We are so excited to highlight alumni from our department, Daniel Salcido! While attending MSU Denver, he was the Beyond Chicanismo Oral History Project Event Coordinator through our department, produced two Anthologies, built a video library of over 90 Oral History interviews and presentations, and was a member of 3 student organizations: Los Herederos of Change & Esperanza, Conscious Journey, UMAS/MEChA de Auraria. Salcido also received two rewards, The Journey Through Our Heritage Mauricio Saravia Poetry Series for Excellence in Contributions to Chicana/o Literature and Poetry and The Auraria Campus Cesar Chavez Peace and Justice Leadership Award.

Since graduating, Salcido has facilitated Chicana/o history classes at the Tierra Amarilla Youth Leadership Institute and volunteered with Al Frente de Lucha. A Chicano-Mexicano grassroots community activist, educator, and organizer has recently been accepted to the graduate program for Chicana/o Studies at the University of New Mexico.

From everyone from the CHS Department, ¡La mejor de las suertes en tu nueva etapa Daniel!
