Action dictates feelings 

Today’s effort was mediocre at best. The day felt long and my motivation wasn’t there. That happens. The question is, what action follows?

Before this challenge, I would’ve said no way to running today. The reason wouldn’t be from cause of injury, soreness, general health, mental health, family issue, or any other possible good reason to take the day off. The only answer I’d be able to come up with is “I just didn’t feel like it.”

That’s the weakness this challenge is strengthening for me. Feeling my feelings is not a weakness. I’m a sentimental man and proud of it. But not all feelings deserve a voice. The lackluster ones from today certainly did not.

The world doesn’t care about you or me. No one’s coming to save us. As the great Jocko says, “Good.”

I’ll do what I can to make it happen. It’s better that way.
