“If you’re a Generation Xer from Detroit, you probably associate ghettotech with sweaty nights jitting at Maxi’s in the ’90s to partying at River Rock in the mid-2000s,” contributor Kahn Santori Davison (kahnsantoridavison) writes of the homegrown genre that mixes hip-hop, house, and techno and became the soundtrack to “every night club, weekend at Belle Isle, and backyard barbecue.”

HiTech (hitechdetroit) “has taken the baton, which has made them a representation of the past, present, and future slice of Detroit music,” he adds.

See link in bio for our full interview with the trio of party starters, who are generating buzz with a fresh take on a throwback sound. The act is set to perform Memorial Day as part of Movement Festival (movementdetroit).
