What’s your go-to wine? 🍷Are you shocked that I don’t have one? It’s true. I love trying all varietals, styles, all of it. The closest I’ll ever get to narrowing it down is sparkling rosé, and even that has some layers ☺️

It wasn’t always that way. I used to only drink Cab — and I mean Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s what a friend of mine drank, she poured some for me and I liked it. At the time, I was a beer person (most of my 20’s were spent loving beer) but that’s how my tasting journey started, and it became a go-to. 

And then I started drinking wine with coworkers at happy hour and also when visiting clients. I work in advertising and a decade ago, was working on wine brands. 

Those early days really opened up my eyes to a greater world of wine, and it gave me the confident curiosity to try something else on a grocery run. You know how the rest of the story goes!

And today, I’m going to challenge you: The next time you pop open a bottle of wine, take your time with it. 

What do I mean by this?
Open the bottle.
Let it rest for a few minutes.
Pour a glass.
Notice how the aromas and the finish may evolve from five minutes to an hour. 

Be really intentional about the sip.

You may have greater appreciation for your go-to and maybe, just maybe, it’ll inspire you to try something new so you have a wine to compare that slowed-down sipping experience to!
