A year of living with ITP // Last September I shared that I had been diagnosed with ITP, an autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks platelets. I’ve shared pieces of the journey here on social, but in honor of September being ITP Awareness Month, I am sharing the full story on my blog.

I didn’t know what road I was going to be walking down, but I knew I was going to give it my all, and I knew I wouldn’t be alone. ❤️

I hope that by sharing the highs and lows, I not only give you a little glimpse into what my life has *really* been like, but I also hope that it gives hope to others on their journey — and encourages those supporting loved ones going through it. 

For those who are like ITP, what?! 

ITP shows up in children and adults. 

In adults, there’s an average report of 
9.5 cases per 100,000 people. And in adults, it’s seemingly more chronic than acute. 

While ITP can be life-threatening when platelets are critically low, it is not terminal.

There is no cure.

After reading my post a couple of times, I am amazed and proud of myself for pushing through all of this. I don’t know how I do it. All I can say is prayers work. So does love. Spending time doing what I love and being around those who love me. 🙏🏾 God has been busy and I’m thankful.
