Visiting Mauritson Wines: The third and last stop on my birthday 🍷 trip to Dry Creek Valley was mauritsonwines! They were a new-to-me winery, but came highly recommended by friends, especially those that enjoy reds! Also located on Dry Creek Valley Road, it was minutes from our previous stop and we were able to enjoy golden hour at its finest! It was the perfect conclusion to a beautiful day!

About Mauritson:
Winemaking may have been the logical evolution in the Mauritson family’s long history of farming in the Dry Creek Valley, but it was over a century until the winery was founded by Clay Mauritson and him getting back to the same vineyards he spent planting, tending and picking as a teen. That became the start of incredible wines for all to enjoy.

The Tasting Experience:
We kicked off with bubbles (because it was a celebration - our host Angelina’s words, not ours!) and then enjoyed a flight of new releases including Rosé, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon while our host shared more about the Mauritson family and their history of winemaking. Wine club members can schedule a vineyard tour, but the multiple seating options for tasting make you feel like you’re at home. The vibe is casual and relaxed and I was delighted to find the cutest Boston Terrier (!!) tasting with his papa. Feel free to bring your dog!

Kachet’s Favorite Wines: Sauvignon Blanc (I asked for a taste…always ask for a taste), Rosé, and Cabernet Sauvignon

Located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley at 2859 Dry Creek Road, Healdsburg, CA 95448
