## Caption

My mother’s family never met her oldest sister until after the Berlin Wall came down. My grandmother and entire mother’s side is East German. Visited when I was 5 and 15 but never saw Berlin. It may be but a fragment, but this wall divided a world and my own heritage. I loved being in my home away from home. German sausage may not have been my favorite, however. #BerlinWall #bradenburggate #Germany
