In cases of heavily rotated premolars I go for pure rotation because:⁠
⁠
- very predictable with elastics⁠
- fast⁠
- buttons are not in esthetic zone.⁠
⁠
In a pure rotation: the axis of rotation is in the middle. In a hinge rotation the axis of rotation is either mesial or distal.⁠
