The US elections are exactly one week away, November 3rd. Early voting has already begun.

For those in the US;
Are you voting Democrats?
Are you voting Republican?
Are your still undecided?

What would you say was the best argument against your choice and the best argument for your choice?

This is the best way to check your own biases, left or right. See if those reasons are plausible (for or against) if the same argument was used against or for your preferred candidate.

This helps to check inconsistencies in your arguments, and also check if the values are consistent with your worldview (if you’re aware of your own worldview or not).

Check if it is fair for all or somewhat selfish on your part to choose your candidate. Is it born out of love for others and a defense of their fundamental God-given (not government-given) rights, or a usurpation of their rights are certain, violated by your choice, if you actually listen to what their clearly articulated grievances are.
Note: “Clearly articulated grievances”, and not the ambiguous kind.

What do you want out of a righteous government? What does it mean for a government to be righteous?

And finally, then look to the candidates and see which of them is close to attaining those goals, values, expectations, the honesty to keep to their promises, and the tenacity to deliver against sure opposition from the left or from the right.
Note: looking to the candidates come afterwards and not before you are clear on why they’re there.

Every election should be food for thought. Don’t make it about the person but about the policies because there simply isn’t any plausible moral argument that elevates one candidate, or any candidate historically, above the other. The differences in personalities are just that, differences in personalities. They only matter when those personality traits derail conviction and their competence to do the job they were elected to do, and the promises they campaigned on.

So if you have the best argument for your preferred candidate, let us hear it.
