Every morning at 5am during summer breaks, my father would wake me up from my sleep, with a special purpose in mind: to prepare me for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead in my education. I would stumble out of bed, my eyes heavy with sleep, struggling to keep them open. In those moments, I couldn’t but wonder why he subjected me to such punishment.

As the years went by, I realized the true significance of those early morning wake-up calls. They were not about studying or memorizing facts; they were about instilling discipline, resilience, and a drive for continuous improvement. My father's dedication to my education became a testament to his unwavering belief in my potential and his unwavering love for me. 

Tragically, my father's life was cut short by the hands of the Syrian government, snuffing out his physical presence from my life. Now, as I stand here, a proud graduate from georgetownuniversity , I can’t help but think of the sacrifices he made. His investment was his way of leaving a lasting legacy, a legacy that defies the boundaries of time and space.

As I walked across the stage during my commencement ceremony, I could almost feel my father's presence in the cheering crowd. His spirit resonated within me, his voice of pride and happiness echoing in my ears. I hope that wherever he may be, he is resting in peace, knowing that his efforts were not in vain.

Though he may not be physically present to witness this milestone, his spirit lives on within me. I will continue to honor his memory by embracing every opportunity for growth and learning that comes my way. As I embark on this new chapter, I know that my father's love and guidance will forever be my guiding light.
