Thinking about a facelift in the future? These are the three procedures I most often hear patients wish they had skipped.

• Kybella : Often creates swelling and scar tissue with results that don't address the real cause of neck aging.

• Radiofrequency skin tightening (Morpheus8, Ultherapy, etc.): Can damage the underlying fat layer, leading to thinner, crepey skin and making future surgery more challenging.

• Multiple or high volume Sculptra treatments:  Can create significant scar tissue that isn't reversible and can complicate facelift surgery.

If a facelift is part of your long term plan, talk with your surgeon before investing in treatments that may affect your results.
